Saturday is fast approaching which means our Pre Match Social at Base Camp Boro is just around the corner! We’ve covered a few frequently asked questions ahead of the matchday warm up, if you have any further questions; get in touch with Base Camp Boro or Ali Brownlee Social Club on social media.

  1. When does it start?

Our next Pre Match Social is on Saturday August 28th and starts at 12pm, it’s also free entry. Due to a sold out music festival at Base Camp, we won’t be open after the match.

2. Where is Base Camp Boro?

Base Camp Boro is a two minute walk from Middlesbrough train station in Exchange Square. We’re next door to Teesside Archives and if you walk past the Henry Bolckow you’re on the right track!

3. Is there a car park?

There certainly is! The Wood Street Car Park is round the back of our building and is £1 all day. Base Camp is also a five minute walk away from the Zetland multi storey car park.

4. Face Coverings

Although the face covering law has changed, there’s still government guidance. We would encourage people to wear a mask whilst moving around the building but feel free to take them off when sat or outside, we want to keep ourselves and you safe in any way we can. That being said, if you feel unwell or have any symptoms, PLEASE DON’T TURN UP!

5. Is there food and drinks?

We have sandwiches, a tuck shop as well as a bar with both alcoholic soft drinks. If you fancy something a bit warmer we have hot drinks available in the Gallery bar, and of course cakes! *Base Camp is a card only venue so we don’t take any cash.*

The only exception is if you are buying a Fly Me To The Moon Fanzine, where we accept cash.

6. Can I bring my family?

Absolutely! We are a family friendly venue, all are welcome to come down. For more details on accessibility, visit the Base Camp website.

7.  “I’m anxious about being back in crowds again”

Here at Base Camp Boro we have plenty of room to space out including our Warehouse room in the back as well as our Concrete Garden area outside. Getting back into the open and amongst people can be a daunting thing so we’ve made sure everyone has enough space to feel comfortable.

8. I’m an away fan, am I allowed in?

Both home and away fans are more than welcome to Base Camp, just be kind and respect others and it should be a fantastic afternoon!

We’re very much looking forward to Saturday and can’t wait to see you all again. Keep an eye out on our social media for more details!
